You can never find true love unless you know what love looks like. One of the biggest signs that you are never going to find true love is if you are trying to force love on someone who you think is the one. True love is harder to come by when you really do not know who you are looking for. You may feel like giving up on love, but this is the time when you need to stick with it hardest, if you truly care about the person you love.
In the end, giving up on love only solidifies any negative emotions that you may feel at this point. You could be blamed for wanting to abandon love because of how cynical and nightmare-inducing the relationship was in the past, even though love feels like it hurts in your ass. You deserve the best possible relationship, so do not give up on love just yet.
If you believe that love is for only a select few, or you are too old or damaged for love, you are going to struggle to find it. You have to open up to the possibilities of finding love, and be ready to take chances. The point is, in order to have a loving experience; you have to be willing to accept, or be open to being loved.
Acknowledging many beliefs is not just a matter of getting to the point of being willing to love again. Part of being a self-carer is feeling confident in who you are, and knowing that, regardless, you are worth finding love.
If you are unsure how to love yourself, you will be struggling with knowing how to love others, too. Just because you did not find someone to love you in the way that you wanted, does not mean that you are not loved. If you are feeling worse about yourself for being unrelationshipable, that is something that you need to work on before trying to find love.
Often, when someone feels like giving up on love, underneath there are many beliefs, experiences, and emotions, such as the thought of being guilty or being insecure mentioned above. Of course, this does not mean you do not want love in your life if you are content with casual relationships and hookups, but it does mean that you likely do and would feel sad and regretful if you stopped yourself from having it. Even though you should not give up looking for love, every professional piece of advice out there will tell you should also not rush into looking for it, as that will usually backfire.
When you find time, it is often difficult knowing how to go about dating in a way that increases the chances that you find love. The busiest people are usually the ones complaining about having no time for dating, but if you truly want to find love, you have got to carve out the time to do so. It takes guts to break up with people that you loved, but that were ultimately not good for you.
